What is an intake session?

An intake appointment is your first counseling session at our Holland office. This appointment allows you to complete the intake paperwork and share your story with us; this information helps us match you with the right ongoing counselor. This is a one-time, one-hour appointment with an intake counselor, who may not be the same person you meet for ongoing counseling.

How much does counseling cost? What insurances do you take?

Thanks to the generosity of donors, we offer no-cost counseling. Because of this, we do not utilize insurance.

Who is eligible for your services?

Anyone who can meet at our office consistently is eligible for counseling. We do not require any financial documents to qualify. We offer counseling to adults, couples, families, and children. All are welcome!

What do I do if I’m in an emergency?

If you’re in an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Our phone system and offices are not set up to respond to emergencies.

When are you open?

We offer counseling Monday-Saturday based on counselor availability. We do offer evening hours at most of our locations. We are available by appointment only and do not offer walk-in sessions.

How often will I meet with my counselor?

For ease of scheduling and to encourage motivation, clients typically meet weekly with their counselor for one hour at the same time and day.

What do I do if I can’t make my scheduled appointment?

If you can’t make your appointment, please call our main number (616.594.5380) and leave a message on your counselor’s extension. If you don’t know your counselor’s extension, leave a message on the main voicemail.

What groups do you offer?

Our Probation and Parole groups are for individuals currently on probation/parole or have ever been on probation/parole. These groups provide individuals with a supportive community to help foster personal growth, to help end generational cycles.
